Today when you ask people around the world about Mountains of Hope, they will tell you, our project was aired on BBC world service recently https://t.co/p0MHuk0ePW
Among the things we teach children in our programme is making of their own sanitary pads to enable them keep in school, this long term solution has caught the attention of every one in the whole world, all this has been possible because of your support.
We have also paid the school fees and scholastic materials for the children we support, most of these children are living with HIV and others living with parents who are HIV positive, we have also linked them to the near by health units to access treatment, so you see what your money is doing, you can see what this project is achieving, you can see the transformation and life saving interventions happening from your monthly grant to boost up this project.
This project has also enabled us to facilitate partly grown up female youth for apprenticeship training and enabling them acquire start up tools to start their own salons.
Thank you once again for choosing to support this project that has enabled us to do more great things in the poor communities in rural Uganda
This project has partly contributed to the Education of this orphan (Joseph) we started supporting way back since his child hood, he receontly completed his three years University Bachelors degree in social development in Uganda, tuition and other university requirements wouldnt have been possible to get had it not been because of this project, other 11 children are also goinh to school and are able to get other school requirements at school because of this sustainable project. All children were promoted to their new classes and others joined secondary school, as you know, the higher they go, the more costly it becomes, but we are continuing to make the project a success.
Thanks once again for your commitment to fund this project
Thank you very much for supporting Mountains of Hope programmes under GlobalGiving page.
Am glad to infor you that the children are excited to have this project as they can continually go to school, have food as well as meet most of the basic needs, now that the year is ending and the school term is ending, they are excited to feed the animals as well as participate in the book work and marketing of pork.
Children will not only grow up as learned but will also grow up responsible citizens and job creators, so far 2 youth have been employed to the project.
We are delighted to let you know that Mountains of Hope is one of the projects highlighted as the most impactful project in Mpigi District, this was unleashed during the District council meeting held in May 2017, the project that you are currently supportig has been rated one of the most impactful since it has enabled a young boy complete his university education in Uganda.
We have some highlights of some of our achievements in the newsletter as well as in the youtube link attached to this report.
Last year we realized that December is a big month for us, pork was on high demand as most people consumd it during the holiday season, the people in this area enjoy a roasted or grilled pork in the evenings, by the start of the year, almost none in our area had pigs, "this gave us a lesson, this year we will ensure we have more than enough to meet the demand"-James,The Executive Director
Your donations will continue enabling us stock more and make more improvements in the farm as well as cater for veterinary services and meet some feeding costs for the pigs
