Hi there!

We’re excited to share some beautiful updates from the second half of the school year (January–June 2025) at José Juan Ortega Preschool in Comala, Jalisco—where your generous support helped us bring the School Garden to life!

This semester marked a moment of real growth. The garden became a meaningful learning space, where preschoolers could explore, touch, plant, water, and wonder. We especially focused on 2nd and 3rd-year preschool groups, adjusting activities to their age and development. Teachers also showed incredible dedication in keeping the garden space alive and thriving.

Garden Activities:

•Kids engaged in sensory experiences—observing plants, watering, and identifying parts of the plant.

•In the classroom, they explored plant growth through stories, visuals, and games that sparked curiosity.

Teacher Training:

Our dedicated teachers joined two virtual workshops focused on:

•Soil, substrate, and germination

•Seedlings and pest control

We kept in close contact to help adapt the content to their specific needs and support them throughout the process.

School-led Educational Projects:

Biodiversity at school: Kids observed and classified plants and insects in the garden, learning to care for all living things.

Pollinators and other insects: Through games and garden visits, they learned about the key role insects play in the life cycle of plants.

Water and its importance: Students explored how to care for water in the garden and at home, learning about its value and how not to waste it.

Highlights:

•The garden is now part of the school’s daily routine.

•Teachers are taking great care of the space.

•Children actively participate in all garden activities.

•Lessons are connected to what students experience hands-on in the garden.

Because of you, this garden continues to grow—just like the children who learn from it. Thank you for being part of this journey!

With gratitude,

The EDUCA Team
