The project has benefited 122 students and 8 teachers from 1st to 3rd grade.
In September, we conducted a school visit to prepare the school garden for the new school year. During this visit, we carried out activities such as weeding, painting, cleaning, waterproofing the planting containers, and enriching the soil with compost. We also provided technical recommendations on container care, space distribution, water management, pest control strategies, safety measures, short-cycle seed selection, and vegetative reproduction techniques. Additionally, we engaged students in planting and transplanting activities.
In October, we held a virtual training session for teachers focused on the design and implementation of educational projects that integrate environmental topics into the school garden, aligning with the Nueva Escuela Mexicana curriculum. We provided educational materials to support their work in the classroom and garden, including lesson planning templates, a technical school garden manual, and learning session guides. The session also reviewed key agroecological aspects such as garden bed maintenance, planting, and pest control strategies.
From October to December, we have provided ongoing support for the development of educational projects and addressed technical questions regarding crop cultivation and vegetable care. This support is offered continuously through a WhatsApp group. Currently, teachers are covering topics such as plant structure and growth, living organisms, natural phenomena, climate, healthy eating, and food cultivation.
