Thank you, donors for your generous donations to support needy pregnant women for safe delivery. We are spreading information in the community about this innovative scheme for sponsoring safe deliveries and pregnancy care for most vulnerable and poor pregnant women by our outreach workers. Since inception we have been able to provide free of cost safe deliveries to over 32 poor and marginalized women at our MGHN network Uttar Pradesh in India. Each of these beneficiary pregnant women has been selected carefully in order to ensure our generous donors’ money could reach to those who really need it.
In this report we would like to share about the miracle baby of 24 years old Geeta Yadav from Chakarpur village in Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. She got married at a very young age of 20 years and became pregnant soon after her marriage. Her husband Krishna is the sole bread earner in the family and works in a factory as a daily labour. He has the responsibly of looking after four dependent family members- including his critically ill mother and a two years old son. His pregnant wife added to the financial expenses of the family.
Ravi Shares: I am a factory labour with a very low monthly income to take care of 4 people at my home. I have been spending half of my salary on taking care of my critically ill mother. I don’t know how I would be able to help my pregnant wife for a hospital delivery.
Both Geeta and Krishna were worried about the pregnancy outcomes due to lack of financial resources. They were informed by one of the community member about Merry Gold Health Network (MGHN) and contacted Merrytarang worker (community outreach worker at MGHN) for the help. She referred them to MGHN Kanpur for further sponsorship of safe delivery at hospital.
Geeta shared: I am obliged and thankful with support services received during pregnancy and delivery at Merry Gold Hospital. Services received from the hospital are good. I would have delivered at home if not at MGHN hospital.
Similar experiences have been shared by other beneficiaries under Global Giving Sponsored Safe deliveries. Women and their family members are satisfied with their stay and reports that they would refer a friend, neighbour etc, which require alike support.
Here’s what Global Giving funds helped to achieve:
Total no. of deliveries sponsored in the facility: 32
