Easter Medical Mission 2021/Childred's Day Celebration

As part of our poverty alleviation program, this year we reached out to Hope Rising Home Foundation community in Ikola, Ipaja Lagos, Nigeria We provided free eye tests, free reading glasses, free blood sugar and glucose test, free blood pressure check, food items, free clothing, and educational materials.

The event was made possible by Almighty God that used other charity organization in collaboration with Hope Rising Homes Foundation, - Hands of Hope Foundation, Total Respite Foundation and Mercy International Medical Mission Inc. This is a great part of our mission, and it was a success.

Children day was celebrated on May 27, 2021. Observance of Children's Day in Nigeria is aimed to raise public awareness of problems, that children face. About 42% of the Nigerian population are children and 1/3 of children aged from 6 to 14 do not go to schools. Many children leave schools for different purposes and children's rights are often violated. We are hoping that the government of Nigeria will do more to solve the problems connected with children's right violation and imperfect system of education.

2020 Christmas Party/Community Outreach

We give God all the glory for His sustenance over all of us, our children at Hope Rising Homes Foundation that we are serving, our staff, all our donors and GlobalGiving management. 2020 was a tough year for everyone. Our children were not able to go to the park to play as usual, visitors refrained from visiting our children, the school age children were home schooled which made them to be separated from their friend at school. One of our children verbalized that she missed her teacher and her friends so much. Kindhearted people that normally brings us food items, could not do so due to the COVID-19. With all these begin said, we thank Almighty God for His faithfulness, a lot of people lost their life in 2020, some people that are infected with COVID-19 are still in the hospital fighting for their life. We are saying thank you LORD.

Christmas Day. The 25^th of December has been widely accepted by Christians as the birthday of Our Lord Jesus Christ. It is one of our festival periods that we celebrate and show love and care to the children in our home, twenty-five widows that we are committed to by choice and the people in our community where we live.

Hope Rising Homes Foundation’s 2020 Christmas Party that was held on December 23, 2020 from 10am to 12pm in HRHF’s compound was a success. Our children were presented with some gifts, like toys and new cloths. Twenty-Five widows were also celebrated. Praise and worship coupled with prayers to thank God for keeping everyone alive and healthy was rendered. They eat and merry with our children. Each one of the women went home with a new 6 yards of Ankara material, a life chicken, a bottle of vegetable oil, 4 kg of uncooked rice and with N2,000 to sow the material. The women were very appreciative, they expressed their gratitude, they all went home with smiles on their faces, incredibly happy knowing that they will have food on their tables on Christmas day for their family, most especially their children, they expressed.

The community outreach started at 12.30 pm same day with 100 people, male and female lined up at the gate of HRHF. Each person went away with a life chicken, a bottle of vegetable oil and 4 kg of uncooked rice. Some of them picked from the used cleaned clothing, shoes and some other useful household items that were presented. All of them were incredibly pleased and happy to have received food for that will cook on Christmas day.

On Christmas Day the 25^th of December, HRHF’s children and staff had a beautiful celebration in the home. There was plenty food to eat and to drink for them. The school age children were bragging about so much fun that they had, and they are going to tell their friends whenever they go back to school.

We sincerely thank all our prayer partners, our donors who supported us with their financial donations, our volunteers which included two Lions Club International members and HRHF’s staff members who made the 2020 Christmas Party/Community Outreach celebration a success.
