God's faithfulness

By Titilayo Lawal | Founder/President

The children at Hope Rising Homes Foundation are doing excellently well to the glory of God.

Two of HRHF’s children a boy and a girl who are siblings were in court on Friday, the 31st of March 2023, both parents were also present with some other family members. After the deliberation, the judge ordered that the children should be released to their parents on that day. The judge’s decision was based on thorough investigation of the parents if they were mentally capable of taking care of the children. This day was their 3rd appearance in court. The children then were discharged and went with their parents from court.

The discharge of the two children left HRHF with 7 children.

The children's school fees were paid on the 24th of April 2023 for 3rd term. They resumed back to school on the 25th of April 2023.

On the 1st of June 2023, a telephone call was received from the Child Protection Unit of Ministry of Youth and Social Development to pick up a 9-year-old girl at Juvenile Welfare Centre at Alakara. AA was picked up with proper handing over Her extract of ‘conduct likely to cause breach of peace/ child abuse’.  AA was admitted into HRHF on the same day after, she has been taken to the hospital by HRHF’s staff and the social worker, straight from Juvenile Welfare Centre for a full body checkup / x-ray and blood work which the results came out negative.

The girl had attempted to run away from the home twice but was caught. Her reasons were “I want to go back to my uncle” The social worker had submitted a written report of the incidents to the ministry Permanent Secretary’s office with a recommendation that AA should be transferred to a rehabilitation facility for children, where her psychosocial needs would be met.

While waiting for the ministry’s response on the incident, the home has put all security measures in place to protect the children’s safety.

All the children at HRHF and staff had their eyes examined on June 13th, 2023, by Retore Foundation for Child Sight. All recommendations were followed.

The Children are all in good health condition. Immunizations are up to date.

HRHF’s greatest challenge currently is that we are still soliciting for funds to purchase a 5-6 bedrooms bungalow in Lagos Nigeria. The non-re-new able lease at our current residence will expire on August 31st, 2024.

We are using this opportunity once again to thank all our donors for your financial support and their prayers. May the Lord continue to multiply you.
