Changing Lives, Creating Impact

By Anum Qadri | Resource Development Manager

Dear Medicare Family,

This quarter, Medicare Health Foundation has been focusing on creating awareness about our services among a larger audience. We conducted seminars and medical camps, networked with specialist doctors to bring in their patients, and carried out service campaigns on social media.

Additionally, our quest to improve patient experience at our hospitals keeps us motivated to carry out regular maintenance of our facilities and add new specialties. Thus, we have started renovating our hospital in Badami Bagh Lahore, so our patients an enjoy a hygienic environment, free of infections. We have also inducted new doctors at Medicare Hospital Noor Elahi Branch in specialties such as Pediatrics, Gastroenterology and Physio Therapy.

We hope to remain engaged positively in community development and good quality healthcare for the underserved

Regards,

Team Medicare Health Foundation

Activities Summary:

Hepatitis B Screening Camp and Seminar on World Hepatitis Day

We organized free Hepatitis screening camps and an awareness seminar at our hospitals in Badami Bagh and Ferozpur Road, on World Hepatitis Day i.e. 28th July 2022. We are grateful to our partners, The Health Foundation, for all their support in making these camps possible.
Close to 300 patients benefitted from this camp, through which they learned preventive measures and those who tested positive were put on track towards cure and recovery. 18 patients tested positive, after which their PCR was done to determine their viral load. Following the results of PCR, the patients were  put on medication to treat their condition.

Renovation of Medicare Hospital - Badami Bagh

In August this year, an assessment was carried out of the facility of Medicare Hospital - Badami Bagh, through which it was determined that it greatly needed renovation. The hospital has started becoming extremely crowded, and the air circulation system had begun being ineffective. Additionally, there was a dire need to expand the waiting areas, and also to reassign location for clinics and wards. Thus, funds were allocated and work commenced for this greatly needed project. The renovation is reaching its completion in some weeks, after which we hope to greatly improve our patient experience.

A Healthy Start to Life, with a Healthy Mother

We were all smiles when recently a patient gave birth for the first time, after being married for 11 years. With initial issues with conception and many years of visiting infertility clinics, she had finally conceived. Thereafter, her pregnancy was declared as a high risk one, and she had been going to a private hospital for her medical management. However, at the time of her delivery, her doctor was unavailable, which made her family very nervous. Upon recommendation, she was brought to Medicare Hospital Noor Elahi Branch, where she underwent C-Section surgery and gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The mother and her family were overjoyed to welcome a baby in their lives after years of waiting.

Orthopedic Success

We are delighted to share that Medicare Hospital Noor Elahi Branch has started extremely advanced Arthroscopic ACL Repair with key hole surgeries. A surgery was carried out through this method of a patient's knee, and was successfully concluded.

Among other orthopedic surgeries, a female patient, who had had tremendous arm injury during a severe bus accident, was brought to our hospital. She underwent surgery in which all her flexor tendons, including her radial artery and median nerve, were transacted. This surgery was very successful in restoring the arm function of the patient.
