On 2. December 2015 primary school children from RespAct partner school in Berlin organized a big Clean Up Action in their neighborhood. During the RespAct project week in November pupils planed a Clean Up action. They asked BSR (Berlin City Cleaning Services) to support their action. Equiped with brooms, vests and garbage bags children set off on a "cleaning trip". Very engaged and vigorous city heros contributed to their neighborhood and were very proud of the results.
Also in December children from another primary school (Janusz-Korczak-Grundschule) in southern Berlin came up with an idea for their own project. They wanted to brighten up and decorate their classroom, but they needed some funds to realize their plan. In order to raise the money for their action, children organized a flea market during breaks. They mobilized their friends and families to donate their books or games, built a stand and scheduled children resposible for the stand during each break. A beautiful classroom means a lot to all pupils. One of the school girls said: "It is really a nice feeling to make other people happy". "With the money we raised we will be able to make our classroom more beautiful" - said her classmate.
Thanks to your support children who take part in project weeks are able to take responsiblity for their neighborhoods and learn that they can also creat social change in their communities.
