Thanks to your support in the past months we were able to introduce “RespAct” project to new schools and encourage even more children all around Germany to take responsibility in their local communities.
We also started to work with refugee classes to support integration of children with migration background and refugees in German schools. RespAct with “welcome classes” is a sports pedagogical project that enables minor refugees in „welcome-classes“ to participate alongside their peers from regular classes.
""Welcome classes" need the most support at the moment. Children have to face many challanges, they need to learn the language, at the same time they lack feeling of security, closeness, attention, a person to whom they would closely relate." - says a primary school teacher working with a "welcome class" in Berlin. "Sports connects children.", she says.
Through movement and sports, RespAct sets the goal of improving encounterment and communication at schools. It is a step towards overcoming barriers that come up in interactions between children with a migration or an asylum status and children of the majority culture.
Thank you for supporting RespAct.
