The fundraising campaign has been very low, we continue to make efforts to improve access to contraceptive methods in Venezuela through the placement of subdermal implants, Copper T-type intrauterine devices, the delivery of condoms, etc.
At this moment we are working on holding community awareness days on pregnancy prevention, warning signs of pregnancy, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and gender violence. We tell women where to seek help and what services they can access for free.
The vulnerability of people to risks of mortality and morbidity due to communicable and non-communicable diseases is reduced by improving their access to essential health goods and services, especially in the area of maternal and reproductive sexual health in order to ensure decent living conditions and integrating gender, age and diversity approaches.
A total of 5,500 people from communities in Apure State have benefited, 2,220 in Guárico State and 1,800 in Amazonas State.
Unmet needs
Timely care during pregnancy and delivery room services need to be strengthened to reduce maternal and perinatal mortality. It is necessary to improve the infrastructure, prioritized spaces, water, sanitation and hygiene conditions, infection prevention and control in hospitals with more comprehensive actions coordinated with the health authorities.
