Baby Brandon is one of the 19 children who benefited from a recent health clinic organized by Kalyet Afya Foundation in the rural villages of Molo Sub-County, Nakuru, Kenya
On the day of the clinic, Brandon’s mother proudly brought him in for immunization. As the nurse gently administered the vaccines, they expressed their deep gratitude to Kalyet for bringing essential health services right to their doorstep.
“There is no public health facility nearby,” Brandon’s mother explained. “To get to the nearest one, we either have to walk almost 5 kilometers or pay around 500 Kenyan shillings for transport — and even then, we find a long queue when we get there.”
Their story is not unique — it reflects the reality of many families in the area. The lack of accessible healthcare means many children miss out on life-saving immunizations, and women go without essential reproductive health services.
The success of this health clinic underscores the urgent need for regular outreach efforts. It also highlights the importance of partnering with sub-county and county health departments to advocate for a permanent health facility in the area.
At Kalyet Afya Foundation, we believe data speaks louder than words. We invite you to continue supporting this mission. Your contribution helps us collect vital data and advocate for permanent health solutions like a local dispensary and better access to SRH services
Help us bring more “Brandons” the healthcare they deserve. Together, we can make access to health a reality, not a privilege.
