The project aims to create a compact living space for internally displaced persons (IDPs) who have relocated to the village of Shevchenkove in Mykolaiv Oblast, Ukraine, seeking safety from areas of active hostilities where there is a high risk to life and health.
At this stage, the building that formerly housed an outpatient clinic has been renovated and prepared for use as a compact living facility. Basic repairs have been completed, and essential furniture has been procured. The space is currently hosting 12 residents, providing them with stable, long-term accommodation rather than short-term emergency shelter.
The facility is fully prepared to receive additional IDPs, including people displaced from Kherson region.
While the building is operational, the needs remain the same as previously identified. Several essential items are still missing to make the space fully functional, comfortable, and welcoming for residents. These include household items and equipment necessary for daily living, cooking, and longer-term accommodation.
Together, we can make sure that those who were forced to flee never have to choose between safety and survival.
