The project is aimed at creating a place of compact living for internally displaced persons (IDPs) who come to the village of Shevchenkove in Mykolaiv Oblast, Ukraine, for a safer place to live from the area of active hostilities where there is a high risk of loss of life and health.
Due to the attack by Russian troops, many Ukrainians were forced to leave their homes. In the village of Shevchenkove, Mykolaiv Oblast, the community is trying to create a place of compact living for IDPs in the premises of an old outpatient clinic. The premises are old and need complete renovation, from plastering the walls to installing electricity. They also need to buy furniture, appliances, dishes, bed linen, etc., so that people affected by the war have everything necessary.
A compact living space in the village of Shevchenkove will be a refuge for people who were forced to leave their homes and go into the unknown, having neither belongings nor savings. They will live there permanently until the Ukrainian troops liberate their settlements and it will be possible to return home or until they find permanent housing elsewhere.
As a result of this project, a comfortable place of residence for IDPs will be created. People who lost all their property and were left with nothing will be provided with everything they need to live in a new place. They will be able to settle down, recover from negative experiences, and adapt without thinking about where they and their children will sleep or where they will be able to cook food.
