Emergence Maize Saved 100 Orphans

By Noel Banda | Project Leader

Dear Beloved Donors - $2,478 Heroes,

Thank you for saving 100 orphans in Chinseu Village, Blantyre, Malawi.

Our maize dried. We had no food. You gave $2,478 of $3,500 goal (70% reached). Because of you, 100 children eat daily.

IMPACT YOU MADE - Data Validated by LUANAR University:

1. 95% Daily Meals Attendance Continues: Even when maize dried, we kept feeding 100 orphans. Attendance register shows 95% daily - signed by LUANAR University 5 students during mid-term evaluation Oct 31, 2026. Children come because you provided maize.

2. 60% Girls Saved: Among 100 orphans, 60 are girls. Girls at risk early marriage when no food. Your $2,478 keeps girls in school, not married. Amina, 12, double orphan, said: "Now I eat two meals. I study under solar light. I want to be teacher." Her words changed from "hungry, dark, fear" to "happy, light, school, safe" - we counted words using WordCounter tool.

3. Membership Primary + GlobalGiving Secondary Model Works: Our members gave MK225,000 ($129 annually) for local costs - primary source. Your $2,478 is secondary but critical for emergency maize. This shows sustainability - local ownership + global love = Agape Love.

4. From Hungry to Hope: Children's testimonies Friday Nov 1 Agape Love Circle: 10 children shared - most frequent words before: "hungry" 15 times, "dark" 12 times. After your maize: "happy" 8 times, "light" 10 times, "school" 9 times. Your food creates hope.

CHALLENGE WE FACED:

Our maize field dried in September 2026 - climate change. No rain. We had $0 balance. We thought we would stop feeding. Board 3 members avg 2 points engagement worried. Rank dropped 30 → 54. But your $2,478 rescued us. Anonymous Agape Love donor $25 on Nov 1 triggered hope - same donor gave to Project #11257 too!

WHAT WE DID WITH YOUR $2,478:

- Bought 30 bags maize (50kg each) = $1,500
- Bought beans, oil, salt = $500
- Transport from Blantyre market to Chinseu Village = $200
- Stored safely with solar light security = $100
- Evening study porridge for 100 children 6-8 PM under solar light = $178
- Total used $2,478 - all documented in hand-written cashbook + Excel phone backup + photo receipt.

Remaining Need: $1,022 to reach $3,500 goal = 15 more bags maize to feed until February 2026 harvest.

NEXT STEPS - Before Next Report Feb 19:

1. Buy 15 bags maize with next $1,022
2. Increase evening study attendance from 40% to 85% - we added 2 peer tutors (Form 3 older orphans) - zero cost solution from Data Management learning
3. Ensure girls safety: Girls walk home in groups with solar torch - word "safe" increased from 1 to 5 times in our new reports
4. LUANAR University final evaluation Dec 2026 will audit this maize project too
5. Monday Data Hour: Every Monday 9-10 AM, ED + Treasurer analyze attendance data - photo backup to Google Drive

GRATITUDE - Agape Love in Action:

- To Anonymous $25 donor Nov 1: Your $25 bought 1 week maize for 5 children - Agape Love!
- To 200+ donors of Project #11257 ($23,314): You inspire this emergency project too
- To LUANAR University: Thank you for signing attendance register Oct 31 - external validation builds donor trust
- To our 15 members: MK15,000 each annually primary source shows local commitment

Your $2,478 is not just maize. It is education. It is safety. It is girls empowerment. It is hope. It is future teachers.

We need $1,022 more to reach $3,500. Each $25 = 1 child eats 1 month. Each $10 monthly = sustainable.

Please share this project with friends - help us reach $3,500 before Feb 19 report due.
