Dear changemakers,
Happy Summer from South America! Chilean schools have been off for summer vacation since January, but we at Educación 2020 are working hard to make 2016 the best year yet!
As always, our focus will be on improving the public education system for Chile's most vulnerable students. One important way we meet this goal is by working directly with teachers at schools in low-income areas. These teachers have very limited resources and work with large numbesr of at-risk students that require additional support. In addition, teachers from these schools often lack the ongoing training necessary to achieve classroom success.
That is where Educación 2020 comes in! We are busy preparing workshops for teachers that we will implement in low-income communities throughout the school year. Workshops will focus on providing teachers with leadership skills and concrete tools to improve student learning outcomes.
By working with 300 teachers in 2015, we were able to help over 4,000 students from the most vulnerable sectors of Chile. This year, with your help, we hope to increase those numbers!!
Your donation can help us implement these workshops for teachers in vulnerable schools and purchase the necessary materials to bring the lessons to life. An investment in quality teachers is sustainable and will benefit thousands of students throughout the years!
We will be back in touch soon to report on our progress as students and teachers return to the classroom in March!
Saludos,
The Educación 2020 Team
