This project seeks to remodel the bathrooms and buy new dining room furniture and computers for an orphanage in Antioquia, Colombia. The Orphanage provides education, food, shelter and love to orphaned girls. Your support will allow us to improve living conditions in the orphanage to provide the girls with a dignified life. The orphanage has 20 children between the ages of 7-16 years old. Currently they do not have computers and when they need to do their homework have to spend long hours looking for information in old books. The bathroom walls are made of acrylic, which can be risky because they break easily, injuring the girls. The current kitchen facilities are inadequate. There is no place for girls to wash mops when they clean, therefore have to carry buckets of water and use their hands to wring the mops out
We will buy computers and teaching material for the girls so they are able to do their homework easily. We will replace the bathroom walls for brick ones, to prevent accidents and provide a safe and hygienic bathroom area for the girls. We will build a separate outdoor tap for girls to wash mops without having to over-exert themselves carrying heavy buckets of water. We will buy also new dining room furniture, so the girls will have a comfortable space in which to eat their meals
This orphanage provides the girls with the necessary tools to enable them to play a role in society. It seeks to restore their rights and transform a difficult moment in their lives into a future full of hope. This project wants to improve conditions for girls. In particular, it seeks to cultivate in them an interest in their studies, in order to enable them to contribute to society as educated, well-grounded women. We also want to ensure their health and wellbeing, for them to be healthy women
