Many schools struggle with unreliable access to clean water, affecting hygiene, sanitation, and learning. This project will install rainwater harvesting systems in 20 schools, providing a reliable source of water for handwashing, cleaning, and basic school needs.
Schools without dependable water access face challenges in maintaining hygiene and sanitation. Students often miss class time due to water shortages, and poor hygiene increases the risk of illness. Limited water access also makes it difficult to implement proper handwashing practices, especially during health outbreaks.
The project will install rainwater collection tanks and gutter systems in 20 schools and train school staff and students on safe water use and basic maintenance. The collected rainwater will be used for handwashing, toilet cleaning, and other non-drinking purposes, helping schools maintain a clean and healthy learning environment.
Reliable water access will improve hygiene, reduce illness-related absences, and create healthier school environments. Over time, schools will become more resilient to water shortages, and students will develop long-term hygiene habits that benefit their families and communities.
