This project will establish effective waste management systems in 10 rural communities in Ghana to improve sanitation, public health, and environmental cleanliness. Many communities struggle with improper waste disposal, leading to pollution, blocked drainage systems, and increased disease outbreaks. This project will introduce structured waste collection and disposal systems to create cleaner and healthier environments.
Poor waste management is a major challenge in many rural and peri-urban communities in Ghana. Improper disposal of solid waste leads to environmental pollution, clogged drains, and increased risks of diseases such as cholera and malaria. Lack of organized waste systems also affects community aesthetics and overall quality of life.
This project will introduce waste collection points, bins, and community-based waste disposal systems in 10 selected communities. It will also include public education on proper waste disposal and environmental hygiene. Community members will be engaged to ensure proper use and sustainability of the system.
The project will improve public health by reducing disease outbreaks linked to poor sanitation. It will also enhance environmental cleanliness, reduce pollution, and improve community living conditions. Over time, better waste management will contribute to healthier, more organized, and more sustainable communities.
