Project Report | Jul 7, 2023
Provide-Clean-Water-To-Over-1800-Nyamongeans

By Celine Omolo | Director

We are well into the Year 2023, and even with the staggering economy, we are certain to make our college dream real.  St. Francis Training College Nyamonge (FTCN). ‘Our Home by the Lake’ is a beautiful home as the name suggests.  The name Nyamonge connotes, “ease with how things happen.” Effort has been made, and more effort is being made to put structures in place that will aid institutional activities to flow smoothly, so as to mirror the name ‘Nyamonge.’ It is our belief and prayer that continued partnership with our donors and benefactors will lead us to the dream of Nyamonge.

It is imperative to inform you that the project to Provide-Clean-Water-To-Over-1800-Nyamongeans is on target. Seventy percent of the project as noted in my March 2023 report is complete, the other Thirty percent is likely to be completed in the course of this year, or in the beginning of the year 2024. Phase one was the actual drilling of the borehole, which is complete; phase two was the installation of a Solar powered pump, which is also complete, and well in use, phase three; the construction of an elevated water tower and a water kiosk, and or a water bottling plant, remains our focus this year.

Noticeably, completing the project to Provide-Clean-Water-To-Over-1800-Nyamongeans will be a breakthrough from numerous fronts. First and foremost, we will be responding to the sixth sustainable goal of providing clean water and sanitation, secondly, we will be able to address the SDG # 1: No poverty, and the SDG # 4: Quality education. This will mark the onset of our ability to contribute meaningfully in to the growth of Nyamonge Community and the society at large.

As such, the College remains focused in exploiting every opportunity available to help achieve this goal. We invite all our donors to join us working towards realizing this achievable goal.
