As we endeavor to explore the year 2023, we recognize the year is still very young and we are optimistic to bring the project, Provide-Clean-Water-To-Over-1800-Nyamongeans, to a successful completion by the end of the year. Hopefully, the year will end with a new project into the GlobalGiving Platform. As always, we take pride in considering Our College an open system and that gives us an edge into the available opportunities in the global arena.
Concerns for the changes in the weather pattern is real, and this year our Country was not exempted. Extreme drought right from the onset of the Year has been unfathomable. Perhaps, this is due to Global warming. We can no longer rely on the previously well-known weather patterns for the planting season in Kenya, instead, we have to patiently wait for the rain. Thankfully, through GlobalGiving; we installed a water pump in our borehole drilled through direct funding.
In retrospect, we may consider the drought a blessing in disguise, because then, it has informed what we need to do moving forward, to keep our compound properly irrigated, according it a learner friendly environment.
The good news is that we are thriving despite the extreme drought, and this is due to the existing borehole equipped with the required facilities. This has been possible through direct funding, and GlobalGiving support bridging the budget deficit as you will note in Table 3 below.
The College remains focused in exploiting every opportunity available to help Provide-Clean-Water-To-Over-1800-Nyamongeans. At least by achieving the sixth sustainable goal of providing clean water and sanitation will open up new avenues to addressing SDG # 1: No poverty and SDG # 4: Quality education, in this very Nyamonge Community.
