Through the generous donations from compassionate individuals via the GlobalGiving platform and additional grant support from the OCHA-led Humanitarian Fund, we have successfully implemented a comprehensive education support initiative in one of Yemen's most marginalized communities.
Our intervention has included:
- Providing school bags equipped with notebooks and essential stationery to dozens of children
- Supporting teachers with incentives to ensure continuous education
- Rehabilitating the school facility to create a better learning environment
The school is located in one of the most remote mountainous areas of Raymah Governorate, characterized by:
- Extreme poverty and limited resources
- Geographical isolation
- Difficult accessibility
- High living costs
- Ongoing impact of Yemen's conflict
- Deteriorating economic conditions
This assistance has brought hope and joy back to these students' faces, providing them with a precious opportunity to learn and develop naturally despite challenging circumstances. The project demonstrates how targeted support can make a significant difference in maintaining education access in Yemen's most vulnerable communities.
The impact of this intervention extends beyond immediate educational support, offering these marginalized children a chance for a better future through continued access to education.

Update on the provision1000 schoolbags to school
By Abdullah | Grant and partenrship officer
Due to the complex humanitarian situation in Yemen, characterized by political instability and banking challenges, the allocated funds for bag distribution have yet to reach Building Foundation for Development. This delay in financial transfer has hindered the commencement of distribution. We are currently coordinating with GlobalGiving to address these obstacles and explore alternative methods of fund transfer that comply with international regulations while navigating the unique challenges of the Yemeni financial system. The ongoing conflict and economic instability in the country have created additional hurdles in implementing our planned activities. However, we remain committed to our mission and are actively monitoring the situation on the ground. Once the funds are successfully transferred and the situation in Yemen shows signs of stabilization, we will swiftly initiate the direct distribution of bags to the intended beneficiaries. Our team is preparing contingency plans to ensure a rapid and efficient distribution process as soon as circumstances allow, prioritizing the safety of our staff and the communities we serve.
