Summary

As we celebrate over 20 years of dedicated work, we acknowledge the challenges we have faced while pursuing our mission. The rise of fast fashion purchases, increased supply chain costs, and environmental challenges have forced us to be more innovative than ever. Despite these obstacles, we have remained committed to producing high-quality, fair-trade products while navigating significant health, economic, and environmental setbacks.

Challenge

For 20 years, we have been dedicated to promoting a more sustainable and human-centered approach to production and consumption. However, we are currently facing our toughest season yet. Decreased global sales, rising inflation in Ghana, and water shortages are just a few of the significant issues affecting the livelihoods of the Mamas and their families. Our goal is to maintain employment for all the Mamas and provide them with adequate training to help them achieve prosperity.

Solution

We want to continue our 20+ years of transformative work. By donating during this crucial time, you are helping us provide sustainable, fairly compensated work to more than 300 women, as well as transportation to and from work for the Mamas located in the Fair Trade Zone, financial training and health screenings, and water storage equipment to assist batikers during water shortages. All of these are crucial to ensuring work for the Mamas. Right now, that work is at risk.

Long-Term Impact

Each donation helps us to fulfill our mission of fostering prosperity for African women and their families. Our focus is on preserving existing jobs while maintaining our impactful capacity-building programs. We have seen that women in the Global Mamas network can offer improved nutrition, healthcare, and education for their loved ones. They pay off debts, save for their futures, and enhance their skills. Supporting this initiative is a win not just for them but for the greater global community.
