Reviving Hope: Prosthetics for Syrian Amputees Thousands in northern Syria lost limbs due to war and the 2023 earthquake, leaving them immobile and marginalized. This project will manufacture and fit 100 prosthetic limbs, provide psychological and rehabilitation support, and train local technicians to ensure sustainability. Your gift restores dignity, independence, and hope-help amputees walk again and rebuild their lives.
Years of conflict and the 2023 earthquake in northern Syria have left thousands of people with amputations. Health infrastructure is destroyed, poverty is widespread, and specialized prosthetic services are almost nonexistent. Amputees face severe mobility challenges, social isolation, and economic dependency, with no local capacity to produce or maintain prosthetic limbs. Immediate action is needed to restore dignity and independence.
This project will manufacture and fit 100 prosthetic limbs for amputees in northern Syria, restoring mobility and independence. It includes psychological and rehabilitation support to promote social reintegration and reduce dependency. By training four local technicians, the project builds sustainable capacity for ongoing prosthetic services, ensuring long-term impact and dignity for affected individuals.
By restoring mobility and independence to amputees, this project enables social and economic reintegration, reducing lifelong dependency. Training local technicians creates sustainable capacity for prosthetic services, ensuring ongoing support beyond the project period. The initiative fosters resilience, dignity, and hope, laying the foundation for a self-reliant community and improved quality of life for future generations.
