Give pregnant goat to widow or orphan in Uganda

Finally after a two year wait becuase of Covid, we are able to take a team from the US to work with our partners in Uganda.  We plan to be there in mid August.  It will be a multi-facited trip to meet with and encourage the 100+ students that our American sponsers support to attend school.  As always, one of the highleights of our trips is to do a "goat distribution" in a rual village.  This event is an amazing way to introduce our American team to village life and see first hand the life changing impact of giving a pregnant goat to a widow or orphan.  The entire village comes to celebrate.  There is always lots of signing and dancing.  They also share a meal with us. When we give a pregnant goat to a widow or orphan in NE Uganda we are giving the hope for their future.  These goats can change their lives.  They are not allowed to eat the goats, they can only sell them or trade them. If managed well (which we train them to do) in two or three years they can have a small herd.  Many children have been able to go to school by selling their goats.  Widows have used funds from a sale to start a business or build a house.  A simple gift of $50 buys a goat.  This is one of the most impactful projects we have.
