Hola friends,
With your help, we have planted hundreds of fruit trees in communities and schools along the Rio Dulce River in Guatemala.
Many of these trees are now starting to bear fruit!
The harvests from the trees are used either as healthy additions to the diets of students and families or as sources of income for households. Additionally, the diverse orchards are becoming increasingly biodiverse agroecosystems, creating habitat, shelter, and food for wildlife that call this region home.
Many of the trees growing in these orchards will live for decades, meaning that the nutritional, economic, and environmental benefits we are seeing today will continue for generations to come.
Fruit trees are long-lasting, life-giving, sustainable solutions to the pressing problems of this region and the wider world.
Please consider continuing to support our work to bring these benefits to the families and ecosystems of Rio Dulce. We can't do it without you!
Muchísimas gracias,
The FTPF Team
