Dear friends,
This summer marked our 8th visit to Casa Guatemala along the Río Dulce in Izabal, continuing a deeply meaningful partnership that first began back in 2015!
Together with students, staff, and local communities, our shared work has expanded from initial campus plantings into supporting vibrant school orchards, wide-reaching community tree distributions, and hands-on environmental education across the region.
Over the years, Casa Guatemala has seamlessly integrated sustainable agriculture into its daily learning, creating valuable opportunities for students to build a lifelong connection with the land.
Heather Graham, Executive Director of Casa Guatemala, reflected on our journey together:
"...watching the trees we've planted together grow, put down strong roots, and begin to bear fruit... It's also a symbol of how two organizations can come together around the same goal."
Armando, a dedicated caregiver for the campus orchards, shared his vision for the future:
"...one of our dreams is to see Casa Guatemala become a place where people can walk through the orchards, enjoy many different kinds of fruit...I hope I have many more years to see the fruit of everything we've been planting."
A huge thank you to the entire Casa Guatemala community for a decade of inspiring collaboration! Together, we have strengthened environmental education and local food security while contributing to our broader Central America effort of planting and distributing over 70,000 fruit and native trees in 2026.
As this partnership enters its second decade, we look forward to growing together. If you are able, a donation toward growing and maintaining these resilient orchards would be deeply appreciated as we keep expanding our reach across Guatemala!
To a fruitful and resilient season ahead,
The FTPF Team
