Parkinson’s disease is one of the chronic illnesses across the globe. It is progressive, where the disease stage increases as time passes. Patients, who are affected by this illness, ease the burden of the disease by taking medicine. The medicine is the most important thing for PD patients. Leading life without the medicine is impossible. Losing the medicine is the worst thing for both patients and caregivers. Unlike to this fact, most patients in Ethiopia don’t get the medicine. This is due to the very expensive cost and lack of accessibility. Since the medicine in expensive, some patients are more likely to save medicines and do not take as prescribed by the physician. On the other side, Patients or caregivers are also expected to travel a lot just to find the medicine.
The story of Genet is evident to this problem. She said that she have been in a serious anxiety due to inaccessibility of the medicine. Besides, the expensive cost used to prevent her from buying the required amount. Now she is thankful for the provision. She said that “ The drug support ease serious burden from my shoulder. I used to think about the price and longer hours of journey”
