Parkinson Patients Support Organization-Ethiopia (PPSO-E) has been celebrating World Parkinson Day each year on the month of April. This celebration is seventh time in Ethiopia. This year PPSO-E held the walk on April 14/2018 with an aim solicit fund for constructing modern raised toilet for poor fifty PD patients. It was held in the presence of PD patients, their care givers, government officials, artists, journalists, invited guests, federal police marching band and donors. A total of 323 registered participants were part of the walk excluding those participants who were not registered. Also one movement disorder specialist named Tsega Orcutt from USA participated in the Walk.
The Walk was conducted with a theme “LET US FIGHT PARKINSON WITH HOPE”. This theme was selected because PD patients in Ethiopia are forced to give up hope due to various reasons such as lack of modern toilet, fair & equitable distribution of PD drugs as well as care-support activities.
We are so grateful to GG INC and donors who contributed their precious money for the successful PD Walk 2018 & further Latrine Building for Patients.
