Report on toilet construction
An appropriate toilet makes the life of Parkinson patients easier and improves their quality of life. Before the construction of the modern raised toilet, the beneficiaries used a pit latrine. In the pit latrines, .they were forced to sit in their legs to defect or to urinate. They faced several problems such as falling and stop before finish sitting in their legs is painful.
Realizing the magnitude of the problem Parkinson patents support organization – Ethiopia with the fund obtained from GlobalGiving started to construct a modern raised toilet in the home of Parkinson patients that used pit latrine. The project is highly appreciated by the beneficiaries, A Beneficiary testimony is written below.
Tesahay is one of the beneficiaries of the modern raised toilet program and she said. I was using a pit latrine before. I had encountered several problems, including stop before finishing, falling, bad smell, forced to frequent travel to the toilet. After having a raised toilet, however, no leg pain no bad smell. Now I developed the confidence to meet people and I also have more time saved from frequent visits to pit latrines; thank you,
