In the September 2009 GlobalGiving challenge, SACCODE-Trust presented the need to raise funds to renovate 2 schoolhouses and to provide food and better care for the OVCs (orphans and other vulnerable children) residing in Maliya and Choma bush communities of Malawi, Central Africa.
The money raised has been put to good use and paid for the cultivation of the fields and the planting of corn as mentioned in the previous progress report. A future report will provide an update on the crop's harvest.
The funds have been also used for a reconstruction project of a children’s school house in Maliya, which is still underway as shown in the attached pictures. Money was used for rennovations in both Maliya and Choma, but the projects are not completed due to lack of funding.
We have yet another GG Open Challenge currently running. SACCODE-Trust has posted a Tailoring Enterprise Project, which will empower 40 women and benefits the OVCs too. Attached are photos of Joesph and women at work while he was doing a survey of an existing sewing/talioring operations in Malawi.
