Orkeeswa School Scholarship Fund Update

By Lisa Heinert | Director of Operations

Nembris
Nembris

This fall semester, Orkeeswa's newest class of 6th graders joined our campus. 53 new, smiling faces, each eager to create a positive future for themselves and their community through education. Additionallly, because less than 1% of girls have the opportunity to complete secondary school in rural Tanzania, Orkeeswa School places an emphasis on offering a high-quality, accessible education to girls in our community. Our newest 6th Grade class is over 70% female!

The best way to support our newest students is to provide scholarship support to cover the cost of their education, ensuring that students from low-income families can finish secondary school. When you suppport a student at Orkeeswa School, you provide them with opportunities to make a lasting difference in their community. Through them, your impact will continue to resonate for years to come, reaching hundreds of others. This is locally-inspired community development.

Your generous scholarship will support new students like Nembris, a 12 year old Maasai girl who has overcome more than what girls her age should have to face. When Nembris was in primary school, she was propositioned for marriage by an older man, but she and her family refused, determined to give Nembris the opportunity to attend secondary school. Nembris dreams of becoming a teacher in her village so she can become a role model for other young girls in her community.

Visit www.ieftz.org/scholarshipcampaign to learn more about our dedicated group of scholarship sponsors today, and help girls and boys like Nembris to have the opportunity of a high-quality education.
