Last month, we honored Orkeeswa School's most recent class of graduates.
Student performances, Alumni Weekend, a parent open house, awards, and graduation certificates made it an incredible day of celebration and joy. William Olenasha, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Technology, and Vocational Training served as the guest of honor and recognized Orkeeswa School's incredible impact when he shared, "In my three years as the Deputy Minister of Education in Tanzania, I have never seen a more impressive school." Our dedicated students and alumni are the reason Orkeeswa School has the impact that it does, and we are so proud of all of them. Hear from our graduates about how Orkeeswa School has prepared them for a future of success and community impact, and check out the photos below!
"Because of Orkeeswa, I have been a role model in my community. I have taken the time to encourage my friends to stay in school, and now that I am graduating, I have to show the younger boys in my community that dropping out of school is not a good decision. They should see from me that education is the best dream one can hope for. Sometimes I feel like I have been carrying Orkeeswa with me everywhere I go. This school has invested everything into students’ success, and that is what makes Orkeeswa unique and different.”
– Cathbert, Orkeeswa 2019 Graduate –
"Now that I have graduated from secondary school, my family and community see me as a strong woman and a great role model for other young girls. After I graduate, I would like to become a doctor so I can help make strategic plans so my community can have more access to health care and health care education.”
– Irene, Orkeeswa 2019 Graduate –
"Orkeeswa School taught me how to be an empathetic and compassionate leader. After graduating last year, I was just elected as the Student Body President of my University in Mwanza. I am so happy to return to Orkeeswa's campus to teach the future generation about leadership and the importance of helping your community.”
– Isaya, Orkeeswa Alumni, Class of 2018 –
The Orkeeswa Scholarship Fund and donors like you make all of this possible! Thank you to those who are contributing to the fund, and please spread the word to others who may be interested in joining our network of supporters.
