One more success encouraging us to keep going.
By Lucy Mathews | Sr. Program Officer
Adoption is a beautiful, life transforming experience. It is a blessing for the child and parents and unfolds joys which know no bounds! Each adoption story is special, memorable, full of hope and anticipation and a triumphant moment for the entire family! We are committed to our Vision 'Every Child Matters!' and are constantly working towards the goal.
Since new guideline in India are in place there we are more focusing on adoption awareness and promotion. We experienced that children eligible for adoption are not in the adoption agencies but those are in Child Care Institutes (CCI) which has no license to give children in adoption in Solapur district of Maharahstra. We collected such child data and linked it with the adoption agencies thus with our small effort we provided a fair chance to the children for whom the option of adoption was almost closed. This effort was done as per the new guideline led down by central ministry.
We were even gladder and encouraged to share with you that when we saw that a 11 year old girl received a family with the linkage process and was placed with the set of parents from Chennai. This was the first case of adoption placement after the rigorous efforts.
We hope to be the reason for presenting nurturing home for every orphaned child. Thank you to all our well-wisher for enabling us.

CSA a way forward......
By Lucy Mathews | Sr. Program Officer
Dear Friends,
As you'll might be knowing that India have made changes in the adoption guideline and now it's possible for the children above 6 yrs. to get adopted. which is the boon for many such a children. Children below 6 yrs. are enrolled in Adoption agencies which has lisence of placing children in adoption but once the children at the age of 6 yrs. they are transfered in children's home where the option of adoption gets closed for them. Sometime due to ignorence and lack of knowledge the child below 6 yrs also get placed in children home.
One such incident have happened in Odisha. a little girl of 3yrs. old was enrolled in children home instead of adoption agency. CSA noticed this and took all the necessary steps to move her to adoption agency. CSA wrote to the concerned government authorities and took all the relevant effort to give this girl a fair chance of having her own family. After rigrous follow up and after enogh search of her birth relatives and wait period for the claim of the child. the girl was finally transfered to the adoption agency.
But this was not enough, CSA kept following up with the adoption agency till the child was matched with the adoptive parent. And finally the child got her set of parents who were from Mumbai and they liked this little girl. Yes!!! she is with her own family now. infact she the apple of the eye of all the family members.
CSA is very happy and satisfied for the time, money and effort went for this case. this has become our stregth to take up more such a cases and led to help all the eligible adoptable children to find their home.

Effort for increasing number of Adoption.
By Lucy Mathews | Sr. Program Officer
It is been discussed and hyped by the media that there are less children eligible for adoption and more parents willing. If there are billions of vulnerable children in India the situation ideally should be other way round. Then the question arises where these children are and why they are not adoptable? We CSA family tried to think over this and realized that the children are not reaching to the home which has adoption license.
Many people didn’t know where to abandoned or relinquish the child. People who don’t want the child wants to get rid of the children by throwing them in garbage, on public place or at any hidden area like forest etc. CSA took an initiative to create an awareness program at grass root level program across all the states where CSA is functional. The objective of the awareness program is safe abandoning of the child. Our program explained the stakeholder who were grass root community worker about the pros and cons of the issue.
One block level worker after attending the workshop helped many children reach to adoption agencies. This has encouraged us a lot. The worker’s effort were visible because he was in touch with us but many might be doing this without visibility. Hope the work continues and children are bought safely to the homes instead of getting into risk situation. Thanks for enabling us save lives of these young ones.
