We are glad to share with you our joy and appreciation for the impact of your support. Without it our staff would not have been motivated to make our children be the subcounty champions and now are poised to compete at the County level, then the national level if they keep the winning spirit which I foresee they will.

They deserve to be encouraged and given a surprise gifts of motivation. Despite this great work, we have had challenges in meeting their monthly staff pay which is currently over 0.6 million Kenya Shillings.

We thank you very much for your consistent giving to help us make them more productive. We also trust that we will be able to make them comfortable when they go for national competition which will obviously need the expenses in accomadtion, transport and enabling them acquire more academic materials for their success.

Thank you so very much.

Together we win, See the photographs.

Built capacity source of high productivity

The written word of God says that two people cannot walk together until they agree and also without vision people perish. Job satisftaction is beyond just well-paying of the staff but making them understand and appreciate the vision.

We started our organization 20 years ago as a non profit organization not because we had the money but we were touched by the school age going children scavenging for food in the dustbin without going to school! We decided to gather some of them who were "doing nothing for nothing"  and challenged them to do "something for nothing" which was much better than doing nothing for nothing 24/7!

It is on this background that most of our staff joined the institution and paying them has never been easy but that has never dumped their spirits and determination to see real transformation and hope for the poor community. As the institution grow, it has been our desire to keep them understand the vision we had and this has made us do external or internal staff training whenever we are able.

A trained staff is key in building the capacity. As we do internal training, we want to appeal for assistance to train two of our staff in a profesional teachers college. We appeal for your willingness to assist. If you are willing, you can side chart us on my private email: jakoywa@gmail.com for further details.

Otherwise we appeal for consistent monthly givers to help us continue to pay our staff consistently to realize our vision more faster.

Thank you for your great sacrifice over the years yet more is still needed to get greater impact.

Greet for us your family, friends and your network. Be our ambassador to let the world know about Sheepcare Community Centre.

Yours Gracefully,

Luke Jakoywa

A motivated staff becoming like pupils to get more
A motivated staff becoming like pupils to get more

For about 20 years now, we have tried to keep qualified staff but our difficulty in paying salaries have seen some staff prefering to look for the greener pasture despite the fact that they desire too to give hope to the less fortunate. We have a desire to be one of the best organization providing quality education and transforming poor communities to realize their full potential.

This is to thank you that because of your support, we managed to pay our staff for the entire year 2022 without any delay. In fact we took a step of faith to appraise their slary for the year 2023 to US$6,000 up from about US$5,000 we have paid for over 4 years.

We are laying strategy with aspecific target and active partcipation in at least two GlobalGiving fundraising every year. Our majir target apart from the children will be staff retention. We will soon share with you our plans for the forth coming Little by Little campaign starting on 3rd-7th April 2023.

We still appeal for consistent monthly givers to help us totally solved this remuneration problems. If we get  six (6) more people giving U$600, we will be able to meet the deficit budget since the rest can be generated from our local income generating projects.

The results of motivating our staff will cause the following impact:

  1. Our academic standards will improve and thus;
  2. More learners will join the universties and colleges.
  3. Standard of living will improve.
  4. More people whom we have helped will come back and make even more great impact in the community.
  5. Will attracts other good staff which will results in great academic excellence which will even attract local donors to sponsor the needy children.
  6. Our activities will be exposed to more people thus growth and sustaainability will be achieved.

Thank you for your great sacrifice over the years yet more is still needed to get greater impact.

Being a non-profit organization our sustainability is geared towards ensuring the staff is well compensated to avoid looking for the greener pasture and also making sure that the feeding program though very expensive continues since this is a great incentive for the learners to complete schooling.

We will continue to thank you for your commitment and giving consistently to our needs.  Our budget for every month to pay the staff is $5,000 which is an average of $95, something that is low in comparison to other staff working in other private or public organizations. Of this budget already one donor gives $500 every month. Our local income meets about $2,000 hence we still have a deficit of US$2,500 if we are to pay our staff consistently at this rate.

With this report, we trust that you can also commit yourself monthly. If we get 5 more people giving U$500 more we will be able to meet our staff budget and it will be a leap forward to seeing more children complete school and a motivated staff ready to do their best.

What you have done has caused great impact as follows:

  1. Since January up to now we have managed to pay staff without any arrears.
  2. Staff retention have been noticed for only few have left for greener pastures as compared to other years.
  3. We can say we have fully recovered from the COVID-19 effects which almost made us close down.
  4. We also cleared the past staff arrears which had been acruing since 2020 due to mostly COVID-19 effects.

We beseech you that Giving Tuesday is on November 29th, 2022 and GlobalGiving has offered US$1,200,000 which will be distributed proportionally according to how much donation per orgainization. Help us get a portion of this by your generous donation during this one day global fundraising dubbed GIVING TUESDAY worldwide. Hoping to see your generous contribution on 29th November 2022 or get your monthly commitmemt to ensure our staff are motivated. You can use my personal email: jakoywa@gmail.com for further inquiries.

Sincerely Grateful,

Luke Jakoywa.

Among our four projects with GlobalGiving three are about a child; Feed a child to stay in school, Help Girls to complete school and rebuild a dilapidated school. Without staff no child would be kept in school, no girl would complete her education and even with the permanent building no child would be able to learn and enjoy the environment if there are no staff to teach them.

It is on this premise that we cannot make a great school with the demotivated staff who are not only poorly paid but sometimes miss their pay completely. We want to thank one of our committed donors who support five(5) of our staff every month. In both projects within Kisumu and Nairobi Counties we have fifty three (53) staff.

Our appeal is to ask you to help us pay more staff as our income have seriously also gone down. In our country every electioneering period makes almost all commodities escalates in prices particulalrly food item. Since we do feeding as a matter of priority, our local resources cannot meet half of staff payment.

It is due to such factors that we continue to thank you and appeal that you do not relent in sacrificing but also ask you to be our ambassador to help give hope to the needy child and provide them with quality education.

Thank you so much for your continued support as we look forward to Tuesday 20th Bonus giving day where $400,000 is provided by the GlobalGiving on matching at 30%, 50% and 100% so long as the money will last. Donating any amount from $100 on 20th July will be a double blessing as whatever you donate will earn some matching.
Hope to hear from you soonest,

Sincerely Grateful,

Luke Jakoywa.
