MOTIVATE VOLUNTEER STAFF TO HELP A CHILD

Summary
Thanks to your continued support, Sheepcare Community Centre has been able to motivate and sustain the staff who are making a direct difference in the lives of vulnerable children. Over the past four months, this project has strengthened mentorship, improved learning support, and provided consistent care to children who need it most.

What Your Support Made Possible
During this period, your contributions helped us to:

• Support and retain a dedicated team of  staff working closely with children
• Provide academic assistance, mentorship, and emotional support
• Create a stable and encouraging environment for learning and personal growth
• Reach more children in need of guidance and educational support

Our staff have remained at the heart of this project. With the right motivation and minimal facilitation, they have continued to show commitment and compassion in supporting every child they engage with.

Impact on Children
Children supported through this project have shown encouraging progress. Many are becoming more confident in school, improving their academic performance, and developing positive relationships with mentors.Beyond academics, the presence of caring staff has helped children feel valued, supported, and hopeful about their future. This human connection continues to be one of the most powerful outcomes of the project.

Challenges
While we are proud of the progress, we continue to face a few challenges:

• Limited resources to consistently support and motivate all the staff, like currently we are have staff stipend arrears of $11800 for the month of March and April to settle 
• Staff turnover due to personal and economic pressures pushing them to move to greeners pstures
• Growing demand, as more children require support than we can currently reach

What We’re Learning
We’ve seen that even small support, such as transport facilitation and regular engagement goes a long way in keeping our staff motivated. Recognition and consistent communication also play a key role in sustaining their commitment.

What’s Next
In the coming months, we plan to:

• Recruit and train additional staff to reach more children
• Strengthen staff support systems to improve retention
• Enhance monitoring to better track impact
• Seek additional funding to sustain and grow the program
