Delaware’s youth deserve knowledgeable and caring educators, access to cutting-edge technology, cross-curricular and hands-on learning, internships, and other educational services to support school success, college preparedness, and competitiveness in a 21st Century labor force.
Since 1977, FAME has provided high-quality Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education programs, effectively supporting over 5,000 of Delaware’s middle and high school students to succeed in school, college, and careers. FAME is one of the nation’s oldest non-profit STEM organizations, with a specific focus on serving minority students and girls. We are extremely proud of our alumni’s professional successes, and look forward to continuing FAME’s long tradition of motivating and preparing future leaders.
FAME has strategically grown over the past few years by expanding our service capacity and introducing a new outreach initiative. Program highlights include:
♦ FAME increased the number of advanced students served in our year-round STEM Enrichment Program by 275% over the last three years!
♦ FAME launched an innovative new outreach initiative in 2013 to spark interest in STEM learning among Delaware’s youth. STEMulate(TM) Change engages a diverse group of students ages 9-18 in fun, hands-on STEM programs during out-of-school hours. This highly successful outreach initiative is being replicated at community and school-based sites through- out New Castle County and will provide over 1,600 youth with free STEM education in 2015.
♦ FAME has embarked on a new building project, Innovation Station, to create a permanent location for our STEM Enrichment Program and to provide a state-of-the-art STEM destination for youth throughout the region.
Did You Know?
We are very excited about FAME’s expansion, however, with increased capacity comes increased costs. We are appealing for your support so that FAME may continue to shape a new generation of leaders. Your generous donations help FAME STEMulate Change in students’ lives. Thank you in advance for your support!
