Promoting Academic Excellence!

Every year, FAME has the opportunity to provide over 220 hours of STEM education to young minds.

Each summer brings new and returning students with minds ready to STEMulate GROWTH!

As we come to the close of the Summer Program we want to highlight two of our students who have exemplified Academic Excellence!

Taylor, entered the FAME program this summer on the wings of her parents' success stories as FAME Alum.  She is currently a rising 7th grade student at Alfred G. Waters Middle School.  Taylor aspires to be a Marine Biologist and feels that FAME prepares her for this goal "Because of science and math- it's more advanced than what we learn in school."  Although English is her favorite subject, Taylor states that what she enjoyed the most, happened in science class.  "We experimented on the liver in science class with Ms. Thompson… It was something interesting that I've never done before."

Ashley, now in her second year at FAME, is a rising 10th grade student at Conrad Schools of Science.  When asked why she continues to come to FAME, she states "I love the people here.  I have a lot of friends here.  [FAME] prepared me for my freshman year- a lot of stuff I learned here, they re-taught in my freshman classes."  Ashley aspires to be a Medical Examiner and wants to attend a HBCU (preferably the University of Maryland or Hampton University).  "Not a lot of people at school look like me- I made a lot of friends here... I'm just glad I came."

Functional Intuitive Technology (F.I.T.) - Educationally created- student approved!

FAME Gets F.I.T. this summer by formulating their own energy bars!  Students had to work collaboratively to create energy bars starting from ingredients all the way to design and marketing of the product!

Celebrating Our Seniors

The University of Delaware, Hampton University, Neumann University, and Delaware Tech are just some of the schools our senior classmen are attending. Nursing, Computer Science, Biology, and Criminal Justice are a few of the majors our students are pursuing!

We are proud of all of our FAME students and look forward to more of their accomplishments!
