Hello, everyone.
We would like to announce our recent activities and the present situation in India.
As of December 13, India is reporting 8,530 new infections on average each day. Then more than 50 percent of people in India have completed their first vaccination. They are starting to get back their normal, everyday lives that they had before.
Due to the spread of COVID-19 and Dengue fever infection, our Indian school, MBS, had been closed almost one year and half month. Finally from October, we resumed MBS.
From the restart of the school, students could study at school again and meet their friends. MBS are thoroughly taking countermeasures against the COVID-19.
In addition, the Indian government restarted issuing tourist visa from November. So our resident staff is planning to come back to India shortly.
When the COVID-19 situation settles down more, we are going to plan India tour again. Everyone, let's meet in India- Varanasi.
Thanks to your support, we are able to manage our school. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation.
Hello, everyone.
We would like to announce our recent activities and the present situation in India.
As of August 12th, India is reporting 37,295 new infections on average each day, 10% of the peak- the highest daily average reported on May 9. In India, vaccination has also been advanced, more than 400million people have completed their first vaccination. However, India has the second largest population in the world, so the proportion of those who finished the first vaccination is 29.8%. It will take a long time to reach all the applicants.
Due to the spread of COVID-19 infection, our school has been closed again. On the other hand, we keep preparing for the day when we can reopen.
However, there is not just bad news. We do have good news today! The government of India announced that they will provide free visas to 500,000 foreign tourists after resuming acceptance of foreign tourists. This will make the damaged tourism industry active again. Also, we are preparing for resuming the India tour!
Thank you for your support. Take care.
Namasute, everyone.
In India, there are still big infection threat because India has a second large amount of population in the world. However, the vaccine has been developed and a domestic pharmaceutical company works hard to manage this problem.
They started a large policy to ingest the vaccine by 300 million people by this summer, so India took a step for convergence of infection explosion. In addition, India shows international presence by providing the vaccine to some near countries.
Nevertheless, the number of Infected persons keep on increasing or decreasing during January to April, so we had no idea when our children can go to school again.
But today, we have a happy news.
Finally, our Indian School, MBS, resumed on 1st March because the government released a command is to close schools.
From the restart of the school on March, Children come the school with good smile. Some children go back to their countryside, so the attendance is not high but ok. We will regain everyday life slowly.
Many our student’s homes are in poverty, so they couldn’t do any online classes during the rest. In other words, they have to study with last year’s contents.
We support children’s smile from now on and do more infection control. Please encourage us, thank you.
In India, Our Mother Baby School has closed for long because of corona virus.
The number of infected persons is getting decreased slowly in India, but we don’t know when we start the school. Under this situation, the children and parents live hard.
On the Road supported them by sending grocery which we fundraised at funding site in Japan in this summer. However, they need more support to live and live healthy, so please cooperate with us for them.
You can support them to buy fair trade products the children made. We have special sets for New Year’s Day now, it’s called Fukubukuro in Japan. You can get many kinds of great products and donation together.
If you want to do it, please visit our Website.
We hope that the school resume as soon as possible and they can spend normal life.
Due to the COVID-19, the situation of India is still hard.
The number of infected people is keeping increased, and varanasi where Mother Baby School is located is locked down on weekends or a few days in a week.
Of course, all schools in the town have been closed since the pandemic happened. Moreover, it is expected that primary schools will be able to restart later than junior high schools and high schools.
Also, because visa has not been issued, staffs and volunteers from other countries cannot visit and work on projects of the school.
To tackle on this severe situation, we started Cloud Funding and successed to collect more than 3,600,000yen (about 3,400,000 dollars). We are very thankful for all supporters!!!
We are going to use this funds to keep operation of Mother Baby School, to improve samitary environment in this region, and to provide food support for poor households.
Although there are strong impacts of COVID-19, we appreciate all your supports. We hope that we can restart the school and meet children after things return to normal.
Lastly, we need your continuous support because of this long fight against COVID-19. Please keep supporting our Mother Baby School and children.
For all of our supporters, stay safe and stay health.
