A new year begins and for the Instituto Nueva Escuela (INE) it is a joy. It is a year where we once again affirm our mission of developing prepared human beings who contribute to the common good, to peace through accessible Montessori education in Puerto Rico.
Furthermore, our joy increases because from November to February we have been receiving requests from teachers who want to join the mission. It means that new teachers will be certified as Montessori guides in the INE to bring this peace education to their schools.
The fact that new teachers request our Montessori training courses implies new schools that are added to the 60 that already exist, new municipalities where this education is not yet accessible and therefore more boys, girls, young people and families impacted.
Last week, interviews were conducted with 112 educators who seek to bring this philosophy and methodology of peace to their communities. The courses begin in summer, but we already recognize the importance of these 112 educators deciding to educate from peace, taking into account the stages of human development and seeing the child as a whole.
If today the INE can continue its mission of training teachers in these philosophy and methodology, it is thanks to the commitment of donors who, with their contributions, allow us to continue contributing to peace through education and our land.
And if you read this report and have not yet joined this mission, we invite you to do so.
