Update: Aspen is attending TDI training and doing very well! The trainer called her "execptional" (which we already knew)
Aspen attended a community event at Freedom Bark Park in Lowell, IN. It gave us an opportunity to engage the community and educate them on Sexual Assault statistics, programs offered through Fair Haven Center for Women and explain Aspen's very important job as a Therapy Dog (in training)!
Additionally the event hosted a costume contest and Aspen won! She was Underdog! Which we felt was a great representation of our work here at Fair Haven Center for Women.
We will continue to post regular updates on her training and her progress. Aspen is only 8 months old and can not test for her certification until she is 1 year old. She has some time to build her skills. However, she was made for this job! She loves engaging people and her favorite part of the day is to welcome all the clients who come to Fair Haven Center for Women to receive services. Such a cuddle bug :)
