Report on the Matinza School Project

By Njoh Njoh Mbango Valerie | Fundraising Assistant

Dear Donors,

In the past four months, we thrived to achieve the goals the Matinza Sanitation project has set out to do. We participated in the GlobalGiving crowdfunding campaign Little by Little, which took place from April 2nd to April 7th and fetched us a €50 fund. Thanks to the various donors and GlobalGiving for this campaign. From January 31st until April 26th, we received €68.65 in donations through crowdfunding. To increase our efforts, we have since come up with different outreach strategies to grow our network substantially.

First, on March 22nd,2023 one of our members on the Right to Quality Education Team attended a collaboration night event organized by the Association of Students of African Heritage, based in Rotterdam, Netherlands during which the promotion of the Matinza project was the objective. We are pleased to let you know that we plan to develop this collaboration further and by so doing envisage organizing more events in an attempt to foster greater visibility of the Matinza project as we strived to achieve our goal.

Further, we are expanding the expertise and knowledge of our Right to Quality Education team. We recruited volunteers that have experience in managing projects, fundraising, and advertising effectively. Similarly, we continue partnering with the I Do Team to help us effectively coordinate this project’s fundraising efforts so that we can complete the project by next year.

Undoubtedly, all the funds raised will go directly towards the Matinza project to ensure that the children are provided with renovated sanitary facilities as soon as possible, ensuring a safe learning environment for both children and teachers.

Furthermore, we are in close contact with the stakeholders of the Matinza primary school in getting as much new data as possible. Together, we are organizing to get new pictures and material from the Matinza school and the people involved to improve fundraising advertising with a more direct look at those students and teachers that will benefit from the project.

You make a huge impact on the lives of many school girls and boys by providing them with proper sanitation and adequate water, by so doing combating absenteeism and preventing the lack of access to quality education.

Be sure to follow the Centre for African Justice, Peace, and Human Rights on social media to be informed about the publishing date of the magazine and updates on the Matinza project.
