This project will provide livelihood support for 100 vulnerable fisher men and women in Akosua Village. fish stocks have declined in recent years due to destructive fishing methods, activities by commercial trawlers especially the Chinese vessels, has also led to depletion in fish stocks and the fishermen's livelihood is severely affected. Most of the fish we eat in Ghana comes from the sea, fish farm contribute just a little, however, we have the water source and a good climate to farm fish.

No matter the efforts they put in the work, they get very little catch or sometimes, nothing at all, they fears the industry will no longer be viable for future generations.
Fish depletion is a national crises in Ghana and hence collective effort is needed to solve it. But small scale fishermen and women in Akosua village, an alternative of Aquaculture could be a game changer. most of the fish we eat comes from the sea, fish farm contribute just a little but we have the water resources and a good climate to produce more fish through fish farming which has the potential to become a sustainable practice that can supplement the villages declining captured fisheries
This project will provide livelihood support for 100 vulnerable fisher men and women in Akosua Village and has the potential to become a sustainable practice that can supplement the villages declining captured fisheries. this can help the over 500 fishermen and women to properly take care of themselves, families and help develop their communities.
