We continue to leverage support from various grants to address the critical needs of the communities we serve.
Recent developments include:
In collaboration with our local partner OLCAP, through the Undergarments and Pads to Keep Girls in SchoolIn project in Ikolomani, Western Kenya, five unemployed young women aged 18-35 received training in tailoring skills, enabling them to produce undergarments and menstrual pads. This initiative has successfully empowered the women to generate an income that covers at least 70% of their basic needs. As a result, schoolgirls in the community are able to stay in school, and the young women are gaining economic independence. This project has been completed successfully, achieving its objectives of empowering women and supporting girls’ education.
In Addition, VAO, our local partner in Ghana kickstarted the Brewaniase Vocational Training Centre Construction. The foundation of the Brewaniase Training Centre is nearing completion. Earthworks, foundation beams, and concrete work have been largely finished, providing a strong base for the upcoming structural development. The project is transitioning from groundwork to the construction of the main building, with walls beginning to rise. We are actively preparing for the next phase, which involves masonry work to fully establish the training facility.
VAO remains committed to delivering a high-quality facility that will serve as a vital center for skills training and community empowerment in Brewaniase.
We invite our supporters to continue their generous support to help us complete these projects and expand our impact. Your contributions enable us to empower more women, youth, and communities, creating sustainable change across East and West Africa. Please share our updates, spread awareness, and consider making a donation to help us reach our remaining goals.
