Let's Talk About It Mental Health Program is an initiative aims to enhance the mental, physical, familia, and community well-being for people of African decent and other foreign individuals living in Japan by providing mental health services, education, unity, and empowerment. By fostering cross-cultural understanding through professional and community workshops and seminars, we aim to reduce stigmas and promote open dialogue to encourage better cross cultural relations in relationships.
Foreigners often face the inability to access needed resources due to communication barriers, deficits in Japanese cultural awareness, and even discrimination. These roadblocks directly impact housing resources, employment, financial support and scholastic acclamation, acceptance and opportunities for children. Negative effects include social isolation, anxiety, depression, and stress attributed to adjustment. A combination of these factors directly impacts foreigner's mental health in Japan.
LTAI will: Offer culturally sensitive holistic mental health support services to foreigners in Japan *Enhance understanding and educate on the importance of having a holistic wellbeing *Create a safe platform for sharing *Hold cross-cultural sensitivity training to address unique needs and challenges faced by foreigners in Japan *Provide a digital portal for consultations and education /// LTAI aims to: *Reduce stigma & raise awareness *Make Japan a mentally healthier place for every resident
LTAI will: *Provide knowledge and access to resources needed to live an acclimated life in Japan, hence reducing stressors that affect one's long term mental health. *Increase accessibility to counselors who have cross-cultural understanding to Japan. *Reduce the number of death by suicide in both the foreign and Japanese community. *Provide individuals with insight into their own mental health and well-being, as well as strategies and skills to achieve positive outcomes for their mental health.
