Exciting New Iniciatives - Thank You

By Staff | Autismo en Voz Alta

Dear friends and donors,

I am enthusiastic about our recent work, which was made possible by your invaluable support. Your contributions have allowed us to share and develop our expertise in promoting inclusion and providing families with access to our services.

We are delighted to announce our collaboration with a university and a youth organization. We conduct workshops and present practical cases to professors and counselors, fostering integration awareness and coping strategies for interacting with neurodiverse populations, including autism.

Building skills and strategies is a win-win situation for educators and professionals who work with children with autism, their neurodiverse peers, and their neurotypical peers. It improves everyone's well-being, interactions, and learning environments.

In addition, we have added a second shift in our classroom-based psychoeducational program, raising the number of children currently enrolled to 117. Our diagnostic and therapy services continue to grow in reach as well. We expect to have served 650 families directly by the end of the school year. When children with autism become more independent and autonomous, it positively impacts their family and community dynamics.

However, our financial needs are ever-increasing. A recent ENCOVI survey shows that 83% of Venezuelan households now have incomes below the poverty line, with income inequality persisting. The top 10% earn an average of 347 US$ a month, while the bottom 10% survive on a mere 10 US$ monthly. Your financial support is crucial in ensuring these families' access to education.

Despite our economic, political, and social challenges, we want to assure you of our unwavering commitment to expanding our programs.  We are determined to benefit an increasing number of children and adolescents with autism and their families, as well as all members of their communities.

We feel privileged and deeply grateful for your unwavering support. Your trust and solidarity motivate us and allow us to achieve our goals. We couldn't do this without you.

I hope you are as inspired by our progress as I am and will continue to support us as we embark on new projects and initiatives.

Marianella, on behalf of the Autismo en Voz Alta team
