NEW Learning Center for children in poverty Mexico

We have recently been working on the reception of the building materials that have been donated to us for the construction of the New Mayama Center, and we have also defined, together with our architects, the schedule and details of the construction process. Likewise, it is important to recognize that the design of the Center has been a participatory process that has gathered the needs of the beneficiary families and children, and of the different users of the Mayama programs.

On the other hand, we have continued to advance in the training processes with Mayama children and their families regarding how to make their environments more equitable through reading and reflection on stories, with high attendance and commitment from the participants.

 Thanks to you, the construction of our Center continues to advance, the criteria that we have taken into account for the selection of the land where our center is built are:

a) That its location is within the area of the Mayama population, this is Tonalá and Tlaquepaque.

b) Have accesible transportation.

c) Not located in a high crime area

While all this is happening, our Mayama girls and boys continue to be trained in life skills and we have also undertaken training in design thinking to develop capacities for co-creation and improvement in their environments and their quality of life, transforming their lives through a seven-step process that are: Inspire, Research, Ideate, Sketch, Make, Show and Reflect on the great challenges they face and their solutions.
