JSIE organized Kumamoto Followup meeting and provided members and supporters an opportunity to network and reconnect with colleagues and mentors from the past JSIE summer programs and to share thoughts and recent experience with them. We welcomed a former head of the nursing department at Jikei Hospital in Kumamoto who had played a leading role in installing/operating Japan’s first baby hatch "Konotori no Yurikago" for mothers to leave babies they cannot care for, as a mentor-speaker. Her inspiring talk about how baby hatch changed nurses' mindset and struggles they continue to face, followed by active discussion on social changes, education, and mindset. Thank you for all of your support!
