October 2018. The IPCC Report tells us we're heading for a temperature rise of 1.5 Celsius by 2030. Maybe sooner. Climate change: floods, fires, hurricanes, droughts - Bad News! This is about us, people. If we don't do something fast, we'll all be on the endangered species list. Good News: we know that trees = water, and water = life. So we're harnessing the energy of kids and youth to spread the word, roll up their sleeves and plant 5,000 trees to capture carbon, protect water and plant life.
You've heard it before. The forests are dying, the temperature is rising, fresh water supplies are diminishing and poverty is increasing. We're seeing the hottest summers on record, rising sea levels, floods, fires, devastating storms, mass extinction of species, and increasing numbers of displaced people. Sounds like the end of the world? Could be, if we don't do something fast. At Iracambi we're doing our part by planting trees to restore the rainforests on which we all depend. Read on!
The good news is: together we can fix it. And while no-one can do everything, everyone can do something. Reduce, reuse, recycle. Plant trees. Thousands and millions of trees. Trees = Water = Life. Our secret weapon? Kids! Spreading the word and planting trees. Maybe you live in a city and can't plant a tree? Don't worry. We'll plant one for you. Or ten. Or a hundred. And every tree we plant together helps to store carbon, cool the planet, plant water and protect life. For everyone. Everywhere.
The long term impact will open the way to restoring forests, restoring water and restoring life. It will create habitat for endangered species, help regulate the climate, protect soils so we can grow healthy food, and clean up pollution so we can breathe easy. Even more important, we'll be raising a generation of environmental champions, committed to, and actively involved in saving the planet. Their future depends on it. Ours too.
