Over the years, the focus on the impacts of climate change has primarily centered on the physical environment. However, it is crucial to recognize its significant effects on society as well. According to the 2021 World Bank Group’s new Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR), urgent climate actions are needed to prevent at least one million more people in Ghana from falling into poverty due to climate shocks.
In response to this pressing issue, the Climate Changemakers Fellowship Program has been developed to offer young people throughout Ghana the opportunity to explore and understand the societal repercussions of climate change. This initiative aims to empower students to devise innovative solutions for climate-induced challenges in both business and communities. The ultimate goal is to ignite innovation, raise awareness about climate change, and contribute to the establishment of a sustainable society and development. Additionally, fostering such initiatives will aid in the economic growth of Ghana, as young individuals cultivate thriving businesses.
With your support, JA Ghana seeks to cultivate a cohort of young Ghanaian changemakers equipped to address the societal impacts of climate change. The organization is actively seeking eligible partners to collaborate and ensure the success of this transformative project.
