Over the years, the effects of climate change has mostly focused on the physical environment. There is however, an effect on the society as well. The 2021 World Bank Group’s new Country Climate and Development Report (CCDR) estimates that, at least one million more people in Ghana could fall into poverty due to climate shocks, if urgent climate actions are not taken.
The Climate changemakers fellowship program is designed to provide young people across Ghana the opportunity to learn and investigate the societal impact of climate change. Through this, students are empowered to establish innovative solutions to climate-induced business and community-related problems. The expected outcome of the program is to spark innovation, create awareness of climate change, and facilitate a contribution to a sustainable society and development.
With your support, JA Ghana will build a cohort of young Ghanaian changemakers who will provide solutions to the societal impact of climate change.
